Security Engineer (Privacy Infrastructure)

About the role

This role owns security and privacy controls for a platform that processes sensitive customer data. You will build practical guardrails for consent, residency, auditability, and secure development.

What you'll do

  • Design controls for PII handling, consent enforcement, and data retention.
  • Improve secure SDLC, threat modeling, and customer-facing security evidence.
  • Partner with engineering on encryption, access control, and audit trails.
  • Support compliance readiness without slowing product velocity unnecessarily.

What we're looking for

  • Security engineering experience in SaaS, data infrastructure, or regulated systems.
  • Strong practical knowledge of privacy, cloud security, and application security.
  • Ability to turn risk into clear engineering work and customer trust.
  • Comfort collaborating across engineering, legal, sales, and support.

Bonus points

  • Experience with GDPR, CCPA, SOC 2, ISO 27001, or data residency programs.
  • Background with privacy-enhancing infrastructure or customer data systems.

Compensation

  • Base: $190k-$260k
  • Equity: 0.05%-0.2%
